Presidential Internets

I've been thinking a lot about what it means for a president to have direct access to the population via email or text messages. I think it could really help a president's approval ratings and public support for his new policies. I was wondering if it'd help "brain wash" people though to have this direct voice. If Bush had this access on the same level that Obama will, how would that have affected support for things like the war? I'm guessing even more people would've agreed with going to Iraq initially as well as continued to support it for longer. However once things go sour, it'll piss people off even more since they'll have constant reminders of their political disagreements.

From now on i'm only voting for presidents that text message.
